2020 Awarness camp at 44th Kolkata International Book Fair

The Kidney Care Society had put up a stall at 44th Kolkata International Book Fair 2020, stall number 196 held at Central Park Mela Ground, Bidhanagar, dated from
29 th of January to 9 th February 2020. We spread awareness of the impacts of our present lifestyle that makes us at risk of several non-communicable diseases like blood sugar, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular diseases. And these diseases are controllable if not avoidable completely.For the purpose of spreading the awareness we inaugarated our first nutrition magazine “Life is
good! It’s your way to look at it” at the book fair .The Founder and President of our organization and eminent Nephrologist, Dr. Pratim Sengupta (MD Medicine, DM Nephrologist) himself was available at the stall every day.

The launch of our first magazine was indeed the eye catcher. The inauguration had been done by an eminent literary artist, Srijato Bandhopadhyay and Tanmoy Chakraborty.

Our experienced renal dieticians were also present at the stall. We carried out several interactive sessions with the crowd that involved some quiz,lucky draw and games related to the
awareness,distributing leaflets,heavy discount lab coupons. There was free BMI and BP check up.There were thousands of people who showed up with interest. But we were fortunate enough to have in our midst Mr. Satyam Roy, the chairman of the Techno India Group, journalist Mrs. Debjani Laha on the very second day of our journey.Professor Trishit Roy, Director of Bangur Institute of Neurology and Father of Neurology in Kolkata and Prof. Sagar Basu had also visited us in the Kolkata Book Fair 2020.On the 31st of January Minister-in-charge: Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Govt. of West Bengal Mr. Purnendu Basu visited the stall of The Kidney Care Society and shared his valuable opinion.
